Camping at Keeowee Toxaway

A bear attacked our campsite

Matt has been dying to take Jackson camping for a while now so this weekend we packed up and headed up to Keowee Toxaway State Park.  The park is about an hour northeast of Greenville and has a nice lake with two shorter hiking trails.  We picked it because there is a drive up tent camping area and with the amount of stuff we have, there is no waaaaay we are hiking it all in.

Yuppy camping at its finest
Grandma sent us a GoPod last week so we took that with us and Jackson had the best time in it.  We tried giving him freedom on the blanket, but he immediately clawed up handfuls of leaves to eat.  He and his watchdog hung out watching us get the tent up and everything situated, and he seemed to really like his little view from the tent pad.

We did the shorter of the two hikes, but even with the short hike poor Grace can't make it any more.  She waited for us at the ranger station and let us know that this was completely unacceptable by dumping her food bowl over and whining pitifully until we were out of hearing range.  I miss the days that she bounded up and down the trail, never letting me out of her sight as she zigzagged all over the woods.  Such a good dog :)
